Here are a few fundraising ideas to help
you collect your donations for Survivor Crop 2008.
Remember this year, we have a minimum donation of $100.00 due
at the event and the more donations you collect, the better your
chances are of becoming this year’s Ultimate Survivor!
Our number one tip: Start early! Don't wait until the last
minute to start collecting your donations!
Host a scrapbook event at your house: Invite 10 to 12 scrapbooking
buddies over for 6 hours of scrapbook fun, charge them $10.00 to
$15.00. Serve light snacks and drinks.
Host a Bingo Party: Sell bingo cards; half the
pot goes to the Bingo winner and the other half of the pot goes
towards your donations!
Send out fundraising letters: This allows you
to reach more people than just asking in person or on the phone.
Tips:
1. Make it personal. Talk about how your life has been affected
by breast cancer.
2. Add statistics.
3. Explain what you are doing and why, include details.
4. Don’t get too wordy, keep it short and to the point.
5. Share your fundraising goal.
6. Don’t be afraid to ask for a specific amount.
Send out letters to your Christmas Card list:
Include a self addressed envelope!
Matching funds: Ask your employer about matching
the funds your raise.
Sell pink ribbons: At your church, or work place.
Change drive: Enlist the help of your family and
friends to empty their pockets of change at the end of each day,
it adds up fast. Ask around to see if you can leave cans, to collect
change, at places you frequent. Places like your hairdresser, the
dry cleaners, or your dentist. Remember “Even small change,
can help bring about big changes!”
Yard Sales: Gather together unwanted and unused
items put up a few signs and you’re in business.
Tips:
1. Make sure items are clean; they will fetch a higher price.
2. Put up signs, including the date and time at major intersections.
3. Make sure your signs are legible.
4. Ask your friends, neighbors and coworkers to donate stuff to
be sold.
5. Items that are neatly displayed will attract more attention.
6. Hang up clothes if possible.
7. Talk to people about what your are doing and why.
8. On warm days, have soda and cold water available to purchase.
Host a ScrapMeet: This is a great way to get rid
of your gently used or never going to use Scrapbook supplies. Get
a few friends together to do it.
Check with the local restaurants in your area:
Some of them have fundraising plans that are easy to do and will
give you a portion of their proceeds for a specific night. Some
of the restaurants are Soup Plantation, Pat and Oscars, Outback
Steakhouse, Cold Stone Creamery…. a lot of them offer fundraising
evenings, just stop in and ask to speak to the manager.
